What is Street Food?
It’s food (duh). It’s feel-good. It’s theatre. It’s insanely great flavours. It’s inexpensive. It’s community. It’s great Buzzfeed material. Excellent for Instagram likes too.
Street food started in Asia, is massive in America, and now Europe’s getting a taste of the action too. Especially the UK.
If you like your food you’ll already know how it feels to stand among the smokes and aromas, beer in one hand, burger in the other, chatting (or shouting) to your mate over the buzz of the crowds around you. It’s very good.
And if you don’t know the feeling? Then it’s high time you opened your eyes to the likes of Luardos. Or Yakumama. Or The Original Patty Men. I could go on… Let’s just say that you need to try as much British street food as you can get your mitts on.
Right now in the UK, street food is mostly eaten at markets, at special events, in disused warehouses, but rarely on the actual street. We want more of that. And once you’ve found your favourite trader, you definitely will too.
